On Windows 11, you will need to forward the "TCP" port "3389" on the router to allow remote connections outside the local network. You can contact the internet provider and ask for a static configuration, or you can set up a "Dynamic Domain Name System" (DDNS) service (such as DynDNS, OpenDNS, No-IP, or for Asus routers), which can track the public IP changes so you can always connect to your network. If you want to avoid connection problems, you have two options.

When you subscribe to an internet provider, you would typically receive a dynamic public address as a residential customer, which means that the public IP address may sometimes change. Once you complete the steps, you can use the address to connect remotely.

If you have a third-party security solution, you may need to configure the firewall rules manually. Once you complete the steps, the protocol will enable, and the system will open the required firewall rules to allow connections to the computer.
